Compare TVs that use LED technology

Light emitting diode or LED televisions use backlighting technology to provide excellent picture quality in a very thin and lightweight package. This allows you to mount the television just about anywhere you choose, which is an advantage over LCD TVs.

As you compare TVs, remember that there’s a lot more to consider than just the screen size. Factors like the refresh rate, which indicates how long it takes for a single pixel to be refreshed, and the contrast ratio will have a profound effect on your viewing experience. Carefully compare televisions you’re considering according to their technical specifications to ensure you get the best value for your home theater investment.

Sony Bravia XBR55HX929

Most LED TV reviews rave about the Sony Bravia line, and we’re no different. We were big fans of its lightning-fast refresh rate, and it is one of the few products on the market that offers an infinite contrast ratio. These two factors combine to create an unparalleled viewing experience, in both standard and high definition.

This television also offers local dimming, which allows you to adjust screen brightness with pinpoint precision. It is also loaded with other handy features, including a total of 12 different inputs and a 178 degree viewing angle, which means that you will enjoy uncompromised picture quality no matter where you’re viewing the screen from.

The only knock against this television is that it is slightly thicker than other LED TVs on the market. However, on the whole, no other LED TV we reviewed can match this product’s stunning range of features, impressive technical specifications and perfect picture quality.

  • Screen size: 55 inches
  • Panel thickness: 1.5 inches
  • Refresh rate: 960 hertz
